Re-working a house into an inviting private retreat
Fran and Dan Bailey of Terrace Park were looking to remodel their 25 year old contemporary home, using the same dramatic flair that was already existing, namely high ceilings, clerestory windows, skylights and lots of glass overlooking their woods. Steve Fletcher brought in Matt Evans, a local architect who was already familiar with the house, as he had done some work on it in years past.
"Together we walked the property explaining what we wanted, and what changes needed to be made to make the home more livable for us and our children", explained Dan. "We also wanted to incorporate more of the outdoors by including a large accessible and private patio with a built in hot tub we could use year round." Matt's design was superb. It allowed the Baileys to add changes along the way to the point that it turned out exactly as they envisioned. It is a great family home as well as a perfect home to entertain in with so many different spaces to enjoy.
The workmanship is exceptional, and although living in a remodeling project can get nerve racking at times, Steve's workmen were always respectful of their privacy and extremely accommodating. Steve specified quality materials throughout, and as it has been almost a year since completion, the Baileys are still awed by its beauty and design.
