A little more room to grow A Terrace Park ranch expands under an inflexible deadline
Melanie and Chuck Stutenroth say trust is a valuable commodity in the building trade. And they say trust is exactly what they have with Terrace Park resident and custom remodeler Steve Fletcher.
The Stutenroths lived in a small ranch-style home in Terrace Park, and they needed to open up the space before their third child arrived. Trusting the recommendations of their neighbors, the couple hired Fletcher in late 2001 to complete a two-phase remodel that would add a master bedroom and bathroom, an updated family room and an additional bathroom.
“We love the older homes (in Terrace Park) with all the mature character marks,” Chuck said. “You find an older home with great bones and you get someone like Fletcher with a little vision and imagination to remodel it for you.”
Fletcher and his crew worked on the Stutenroth home daily, while the then family of four lived in one small section of the house. Melanie said she admires how the crew respected their privacy and were always courteous and non-intrusive. But most importantly to Melanie, who was pregnant with their third child, they got the job done on time.
Chuck recalls one Sunday when Steve most impressed him with his top-notch service. “It was a Sunday and it had rained all week and we had no roof, just a tarp. We were concerned that it could begin leaking inside,” he said. “Steve came over himself within 10 minutes and resolved the issue. That’s the kind of personal attention you can expect with Steve.”
The Stutenroths love the remodel Fletcher did on their Terrace Park home, and are now in the process of selling the home…so they can buy a larger home, which they plan to remodel. They have already contacted Fletcher about conducting a repeat performance.
“The very fact that I am talking with Steve again shows that I believe in what he does,” Chuck said. “The trust, the professionalism and the quality product—it’s all there when you work with Steve.” |
